AlkoKilla's Tips Empty AlkoKilla's Tips

Post by AlkoKilla Sun Apr 26, 2015 8:20 am

Hey, guys.

I wanted to create a tip forum for those who are new to the group, or new to the game in general.  All of these tips will keep everyone happy, including you.  These are basically going to be put into 3 categories: how to be better with the club, how to earn more XP, and how to earn more credits.

Club Tips

- Get to know the co-leaders.  I found this to be helpful.  Add them as friends.  They will usually have game sessions open if they're on Horizon.  And as long as their session hasn't hit the maximum 12, just hop in.
- Use your god damned mic.  This is my biggest personal pet peeve, and it bothers the rest of the co-leaders as well.  Microsoft provided you with a microphone to use during online play.  USE IT.  It could actually save you from a steel-toed boot out of the club, because we don't bash into each other during races.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help.  Some of us are really good at designing decals (Yoked).  Some of us are exceptional at tuning (Tribian).  Some of us suck at both (me, even thought I'm trying my hand ad decals).  If you're like me, the guys in the club are willing to help you with anything you may need it.
- When in doubt, Don't be a dick.  This is my golden rule for life.  It applies equally to the club.  After thinking about it, there should never be any doubt; just don't be a dick.
- If you're about to be booted for the XP requirement, message Tribian.  He might save you.  Just let him know your issue.
- Buy the Club Cars.  There are a few club cars, which are as follows:
  • Mazda RX7, Tribian's Drift Tune and Skin
  • Ford Transit Van, B Class, non-V8
  • Volkswagen Camper/Bus (the Barn Find), S1 Class, Roof Rack Mandatory

- No one is going to be upset if you want to do a little solo play.  We all need to advance the career.  Hell, you get free cars by completing the showcases.  If you feel like all you're doing is online road trips with the Club, take a day or two to play some Solo to change things up a little bit.
- Throw The (DyUn) On Your Vehicles.  Other than the skin for the Mazda RX7, you should show off your allegiance with pride.  I have made a very simple, yet elegant, DyUn vinyl group, while YokedBlowfish has made one that's a bit more intricate.  Either will do the job.  If you need help finding them, please ask.
- Download the Helpful Tunes. Some of the guys have made some very helpful tunes for your cars, if your looking for an edge over the other people out there (non-club members, of course). I'll compile the list as I remember them. If you want to download any of them, search for the maker of the tune while in that car. If you need help, just ask while on Live. It's easier to explain there.:
  • Mazda RX7 Drift, made by Tribian7. When you buy the car, you need the latest version of the tune.
  • Shelby Daytona S1 Grip, made by YourMomsATable. When I'm not racing with the other coleaders, I have won SEVERAL online Road Trips with this tune.
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 (Barn Find) A Grip, made my me (AlkoKilla). I'm still working on this one, but it's gotten me a few wins in the A class.

XP Tips

As you may have noticed, there's a requirement to get 100K XP to stay in the club.  It's not that difficult for most, but here are some tips.
- Solo play.  Duh.  This is the easiest way to get some much needed XP.  If you complete 2 road trips, you'll have 100K for sure.  Make sure to do any rivals that pop up after each race for added XP (and credits, for that matter).
- Play with the club.  You get bonus XP for each online race you complete with the club.  It's not a lot, but you'll get to the 100K faster.
- Don't try to compete if your car isn't strong enough.  As I mentioned earlier, I'm not good with tuning, while others are.  What I do is hang in the back and rack up the XP with drifting and wreckage.  As long as you don't hit any walls or other cars, you'll get your XP quickly.

Credit Tips

I fell that I am qualified to speak about this because I always hover between 4 and 6 Million credits, and typically hang over 5.  So, here's how I got my money.
- Forza Hub.  Download it.  Learn to love it.  You get credits based on how you've done with past Forza games, resetting the gifts on a monthly basis (the 1st of each month).  It tracks everything you've done since ForzaMotorsport 2 came out, so if you're like me and have been playing since then, you probably get 1 Million every month.  This is by far the easiest way to get hard earned credits.
- Don't buy a car unless you absolutely need it.  The only cars I've bought so far have been the club cars.  All of my money goes into upgrading.  Use the gifts from Turn 10, along with the free DLC cars that are provided (there are about 16).
- Rivals.  Rivals are an easy way to get some money.  Even if you don't win, you get some payout.  You should get a few that populate in you start menu.
- Horizon Promo.  Advance far enough in the Solo missions and you'll unlock what's called Horizon Promo.  If you advance even more, you'll unlock the ability to throw a camera icon above cars you haven't taken a picture of.  Each unique car gets you a cool 1,000 credits, and every 20 gets you increasing amounts of even more credits.  There are currently 186 vehicles total in the game.  Math would dictate that's a pretty good chunk of change.

This list is an evolving list.  If I think of anything else, or someone suggests something, I'll edit it in.

No problem, guys. Are there any club cars other than the 3 listed? I think we mentioned something about a C class Beetle, along with a possible A class. Were they picked yet?

Not yet, we added the shelby daytona for those who can afford it so we may drop it, Trib is going to set up a co leader meeting and we can discuss it, they just need to be affordable cars that everyone can get. Trib promoted you to co leader right?

Definately a worthy post Alko. Very well said. I completely agree with your Club tips and am glad that someone was smart enough to put together all the things that i kind of see as pet peeves and daily thoughts as I play. i think that the volkswagon bus also has to have a roof rack as well, im not sure if your original post is able to be edited but it shouldnt really matter if they read the replies. Much Respect for the topic.

Edit: After reading my reply, i have stated what i wanted a bit wrong, i had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of this topic

Yep, the threads are editable. I've noticed with threads in the past, anywhere, that with something like this, replies get buried. So I'll edit when a good suggestion comes along, or when I get corrected on something I wrote.
