Just cyrious if anyone has noticed turn 10 actually many differences between turbochargers or superchargers. I know in real life a turbo will often give you more power for the dollar, but in my limited experience its not always about the actual output but the powerband control you can get with each one. Superchargers typically (there is always exceptions I know) give you more instantaneous midrange control of your throttle at lower rpms. Turbos, on principle (again, there is always an exception) require higher rpms to spool. That is sort of a nutshwll version, seeing as they're are so many types.
However, in the game, ive noticed a definitive sound difference but not much else. Seems to me a supercharger doesnt normally send your car as far, has anyone else seen an actual throttle/powerband difference while tuning different cars?

I really wish i could find a way to edit original posts. Upon more research, just to clarify, turbos have come along way, and dont always need higher rpms...but powerband difference is still a factor. The game shows a diffrrence on dyno charts when your choosing parts, but ive yet to see a difference while driving

The short answer: Superchargers are for low end torque, Turbochargers are for high end RPM's.

The long answer: Depending on what you want to do with your car depends on which of the FAI (Force Air Induction) pieces you want to use, and it all depends on what the car is, and what you'll be using if for. Even within your drag cars, you may want to have a Supercharger on one and a Turbocharger on another, depending on the class. Generally speaking, the lower class vehicles I have for drag use a Supercharger, while the higher classes use a Turbocharger (as long as I don't go to the next class). When I use my regular cars for races, it all depends on what the car is, and what I'm using it for. Playground games typically get a Supercharger for me. Rear wheel also get a Supercharger. All wheel? I'm all Turbocharger.

However, with all of this said, it's really up to your preference on what you want to use.

as far as i know, you can edit your posts anytime after you write them but i could be wrong on that one. about the turbo/super thought that you are spooling out, it seems about right in my eye from the dyno charts that they show you. a turbo is a punch of power that kicks in at a certain rpm while a supercharger is much more consistant power over the whole powerband. bear in mind that im not talking about the new ford ecoboosts when im thinking conventionally about the two, but generally people super/turbo engines based on engine size and number of cylinders... you hardly ever find superchargers on 4 cylinder cars, and rarely on 6's but a v8 is far more likely to be supercharged. also goes the same the other way, a 4 cylinder is far more likely to be turbocharged than is a v8. i hooked up a civic ingame with a turbo and definately could notice that there was a lack of power when coming out of corners until i sped up then it would take off when i got up rpms. im not sure if they accounted in for vtec too but needless to say that combination if they did account for both makes that engine useless for me with a turbo, and now that you reminded me maybe i will tinker with it and try a supercharger if it gives me the option next time im tuning ingame
